Eyewitness footage shows a powerful flood sweeping through a village in Nepal's Himalayan region near the border with China's Tibet region on Wednesday, August 26. The video, filmed near Betrawati Bazaar in Uttargaya Municipality, shows a torrent of water, mud and debris rushing down a mountainside and covering part of the settlement. Reuters verified the location using buildings, roads and river features matched with satellite and archive imagery, while the date was confirmed through original file metadata and Nepal's Ministry of Home Affairs. Authorities said at least 157 bodies had been recovered, while more than 400 tourists were reported missing.
