U.S. President Donald Trump has declassified intelligence documents that he says reveal Chinese efforts to interfere in the 2020 US election, reviving his long-running criticism of election security and accusing US intelligence agencies of downplaying Beijing's alleged activities.

In a 25-minute address, Trump claimed China obtained 220 million US voter files containing names, addresses and other voter registration data, and alleged that intelligence officials suppressed information about the extent of the operation. However, US intelligence agencies have previously concluded that while foreign actors sought to influence the election, there was no evidence that China or any other adversary altered votes or changed the outcome of the 2020 presidential election.
