External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar defended India’s continued purchase of Russian energy, saying the country must address the challenge of providing energy to 1.4 billion people amid a difficult global energy situation.

Speaking on India’s position alongside Ukraine’s concerns, Jaishankar said New Delhi respects Kyiv’s perspective but expects others to respect India’s own position as well.
