Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said it has dismantled a separatist militant team that allegedly infiltrated the country's northwestern border to carry out sabotage and terrorist attacks. According to the IRGC's Hamzeh Sayyid al-Shohada Base, the operation followed intelligence monitoring that tracked the group after it entered Iran's border region. Iranian forces say they ambushed the militants in the mountainous area between Mahabad and Piranshahr, eliminating the six-member team and recovering weapons and military equipment. The IRGC said the operation prevented planned terrorist activities and warned that any attempt to undermine security along Iran's northwestern borders would be met with a decisive response.
