Russian Permanent Representative to the UN Vasily Nebenzya delivers a major speech at the UN General Assembly on the situation in Ukraine and the so-called “temporarily occupied territories.”

Nebenzya rejects the characterization of Crimea, Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporozhye and Kherson as “occupied territories,” arguing that their residents exercised their right to self-determination and chose to link their future with Russia. He also accuses Kiev and its Western supporters of using the UN General Assembly for an anti-Russian campaign.
