The Indian Navy has commissioned INS Malvan, the second Mahas-class Anti-Submarine Warfare Shallow Water Craft (ASW SWC), at Karwar. Built by Cochin Shipyard with over 80% indigenous content, the warship is designed to detect and neutralize submarine threats in shallow coastal waters. Named after the historic town of Malvan in Maharashtra, the vessel strengthens India's maritime security and showcases the country's growing self-reliance in defence manufacturing under the Aatmanirbhar Bharat initiative.
