Trump said he expects Chinese President Xi Jinping to visit the United States in September before making a return trip to China later in the year for a major conference.

Trump also thanked China, saying he had personally asked President Xi not to intervene in the Iran conflict. According to Trump, Xi agreed and did not get involved, a move Trump described as helpful amid rising regional tensions.
