The Kremlin says Moscow hopes to resume trilateral negotiations on Ukraine, but there is currently no formal roadmap for a new round of talks. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Russia, Ukraine and the United States have a shared political initiative and desire to restart the negotiations, adding that Moscow hopes they will resume in the foreseeable future. Peskov declined to discuss potential points publicly while formal plans remain absent.
Peskov also said Russia and the United States continue contacts, including work on prisoner and detainee exchanges. He addressed Russia’s response to Hungary’s decision involving Russian diplomats, warning it would negatively affect bilateral relations while saying Moscow remains open to ties. On European energy, Peskov argued that Europe is paying more for gas than it would for Russian supplies and criticised what he described as political opposition to Russian energy.
