As US President Donald Trump faces declining approval ratings, attention is shifting to potential challengers for 2028. One name gaining traction is Ro Khanna. After a sharp exchange with Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth over the cost of the Iran war, Khanna has positioned himself as a voice for everyday Americans. With an anti-war, pro–middle-class message, Khanna has expanded his national presence through town halls, policy debates, and social media. Khanna’s growing visibility and messaging signal early momentum in what could become a 2028 presidential bid.
