New York Gov. Kathy Hochul is stepping up efforts to help farmers dealing with the fallout from President Donald Trump’s tariff policies.

Hochul’s administration has launched a $30 million state tariff-relief program for New York agricultural producers, targeting rising costs and market losses faced by dairy, livestock, specialty-crop and aquaculture producers.

Hochul has also continued demanding that the federal government return an estimated $13.5 billion in tariff payments collected from New Yorkers, arguing that farmers, businesses and families have carried the financial burden of the policies.
