Mark Rutte says Europe is responding to growing global threats as NATO allies increase defense spending and prepare for a new security phase.

Speaking about tensions involving Iran and the Strait of Hormuz, Rutte highlights intense military coordination led by France and the United Kingdom, with around 40 countries involved in preparations near the region.

He also delivers a striking assessment of NATO’s future, saying he is “extremely optimistic” — and credits Donald Trump for pushing allies to dramatically raise defense spending.

🛡️ NATO allies now moving toward 5% defense spending goals
⚡ Massive investments planned for military capabilities
🌍 Increased focus on Ukraine, deterrence, and industrial defense production

Rutte warns that the Alliance must prepare not only for threats from Russia, but also from other future adversaries in an increasingly unstable world.
