India and the United Kingdom have officially operationalised the Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA), ushering in a new era of bilateral economic cooperation. The agreement grants duty-free access to nearly 99% of Indian exports to the UK, benefiting key sectors including textiles, leather, gems and jewellery, seafood, agriculture, engineering and MSMEs. It also exempts eligible Indian professionals on temporary assignments from double social security contributions for up to five years, while boosting trade, investment, digital cooperation and global supply chains.
