Russia has launched a furious attack against the UK as tensions escalated amid Andy Burnham's first visit to Ukraine today.

The Kremlin today (August 24) hit out at Britain for providing Ukraine with the capability to produce Anglo-French Storm Shadow missiles. Mr Burnham today gave a speech in Kyiv to pledge to hand Volodymyr Zelensky the classified blueprints for the deadly weaponry.

When asked about the Kremlin's response to Mr Burnham's move, Vladimir Putin's spokesman Dmitry Peskov warned ominously that Britain was now 'participating in this war'. Moscow's position was 'extremely negative', he stated.
