📖 INCIDENT OVERVIEW

On December 12, 2022, Fox Lake police responded to reports of a shooting inside an apartment complex on Mineola Road. Officers found 77-year-old Roy deceased inside his residence while witnesses reported seeing a man and woman leave shortly after the incident.

A damaged gold minivan became a major lead. Investigators connected the vehicle to 38-year-old Ibrahim, who had also been the subject of a separate police complaint earlier that evening. Officers located him in Round Lake, where he surrendered without incident.

Investigators later determined that Kathryn had visited Roy that evening and was accompanied to the area by Ibrahim. Evidence presented in court indicated that Ibrahim entered the apartment, confronted Roy, and later attempted to conceal evidence connected to the case.

📌 CASE OUTCOME

Ibrahim was convicted of first-degree murder on January 22, 2024. On August 29, 2024, he was sentenced to 50 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections.

Kathryn pleaded guilty to obstructing justice and destruction of evidence. She received 180 days in jail followed by 24 months of probation.
