Treasury likely to extend fuel support measures

Economists say they expect that National Treasury will continue to lend motorists some level of support when it comes to higher fuel prices going into May. This, after Treasury announced that the general fuel levy would be reduced by R3 a litre for April, to give motorists some reprieve from the higher oil and fuel prices as a result of the war in the Middle East. Meanwhile, the government has already indicated that a support package is being worked on to try and help households with the expected higher cost of living in the short-term.
