When a defendant walks into court claiming they've already paid their debt with a "secret Treasury payment" it's bound to be exciting. In this one of a kind episode, a Sovereign Citizen makes a bold argument that he has cleared his debt with a mysterious "non-cash negotiable instrument" referencing the Treasury, but as the judge begins to ask questions to clarify his position, the whole argument is unraveling before our eyes.

As the court carefully evaluates the supposed "payment", explaining why it does not qualify as legal tender, and then conclusively rejecting the defendant's claim, we see an excellent example of the distinction between what one may believe and what can be established as legally valid, as well as why time, proper filing and official documentation are of utmost importance in court.
