Challenge Accepted
Follow along as I use a collection of crumb and scrappy blocks to use in this quilt challenge sent to me by "FutureCatNZ". Links to each of the content creators involved in this dynamic and engaging monthly collaboration are listed below. This runs once a month from March 2026 and finishes in September. Please check each out as we complete each of the challenges over a 7-month period.

BACK TO THIS VIDEO:
As demonstrated, fabric are utilizing scraps and crumb squares constructed into like colours.
The colors used are to reflect the colors of a rainbow and also those used in modern Pride flags and logos.: This piece will finish at 28” without borders (28.5" unfinished).

Centre Block: The Sawtooth Star
4 at 2.5 x 4.5" Flying Geese (black tones with light fabric)
4 at 2.5" squares (light fabric)
4 at 2.5" Half Square Triangles each half as shown to match the placement of the other two blocks Red/Pink, Orange/Yellow, Green/Teal, Blue/Purple

Block A:
Make 4 blocks, one in Orange, One in Green, One in Blue and One in Pink
each Block will Use
2 at 2.5" squares (or 1 at 2.5 x 4.5")
4 Flying Geese (2 with dark sky and 2 with light sky)
2 at 2.5 x 10.5" in light fabric

Corner Blocks:
Make 4 blocks, one in Yellow, One in Red, One in Teal and One in Purcse
each block will use:
3 at 2.5" squares light fabric
2 at 2.5 x 4.5" light fabric
3 at 2.5" coloured fabric
6 at 2.5" Half Square Triangles (coloured fabric with light fabric)
1 at 2.5 x 8.5" light fabric
1 at 2.5 x 10.5" light fabric

If going scrappy is not your choice, then pick fabrics that mimic solids. My goal is to use what fabric I have on hand that gives each design a custom look. I encourage you to use what brings you joy.
