Teachers looking to stretch classroom budgets recently lined up outside the East Las Vegas Library for a book sale offering donated used and new reading material for 25 cents each for students of all ages.

“We got lines of people outside waiting to come to enjoy this book sale,” said Kelvin Watson, executive director of the Las Vegas-Clark County Library District.

Watson said the low-cost sale was aimed at helping educators at a time when many are feeling financial pressure. “Especially in this economy, teachers have been struggling to provide for their classrooms, so this is right on point where they can buy 100 books for a quarter a piece and that really stretches their dollars,” Watson said.
