In this video, I show a unique way to repair a seized vacuum cleaner brush roll bearing instead of replacing the entire brush roll assembly. I used the smallest ezout I had, I believe it was the #0 size.

This Fuller Brush Speedy Maid vacuum (also used in various Riccar, Simplicity, CleanMax, and Powr-Flite models) had a brush roll that barely spun due to a large amount of hair packed behind the bearing. Rather than spending money on a replacement brush roll, I drilled the axle, used an extractor to remove the splined shaft, cleaned out the hair, freed up the bearing, and restored the original brush roll to working condition.

This repair method may help save many wooden brush rolls that would otherwise be thrown away and replaced.
